Nothing overlooked

Everything you want from a meal service. None of the fine print.

Seasoned, not sauced

Every simplicity plate is protein, a measured starch, and two vegetables. Flavor comes from salt-free seasoning blends — never a sugary sauce or a butter finish.

100% gluten-free food

The whole menu is gluten-free. Not a GF option. No asterisks. No exceptions.

Cooked by a sous chef

Your food is made by Tyler O’Neill, a professional sous chef and certified ServSafe Manager. Small batches. Same hands, every time.

Fresh first, then frozen

The first 4 meals of every drop arrive fresh. Everything after that arrives frozen. Dinner tonight, and backup dinners in the freezer.

Dinner and lunch, handled

Dinner packs for the week, plus Lunch 5 for the workday — five lunches in your Sunday drop, for work or home.

No subscription

A prepaid card, not a contract. Nothing renews, nothing auto-charges. When you want more, you buy another card.

Almost nothing goes to waste.

It happens in every kitchen. Vegetables go limp at the back of the crisper. Leftovers go unclaimed. Snacks go stale in the pantry. It’s not carelessness. Grocery shopping works that way: you buy for the week you hope you’ll have.

Whetstone works differently. Every meal is portioned for one dinner. Nothing extra to wilt, nothing left over to forget. And every meal beyond your first four arrives frozen, so it waits in your freezer instead of going bad in your fridge.

You’re already spending it. Whetstone just makes sure you eat it.

The grocery money that never gets eaten
  • Limp vegetables. Bought with good intentions, buried by Friday.
  • Forgotten leftovers. Saved for tomorrow, tossed next week.
  • Stale pantry snacks. Opened, forgotten, gone soft.
With Whetstone: dinner arrives already portioned, and the frozen meals are ready whenever you are.

How it works

Follow the build

We’re building Whetstone in the open — the food, the drops, and the business behind them, starting December 6. Follow along.

Simple plates. Serious flavor.

One formula, cooked by a chef. Every plate is built the same way, so dinner is never a decision and never a gamble.

1

Protein, 25–35 g

Chicken, pork, turkey, beef, lamb, duck, salmon, trout, cod, or shrimp — plus mushroom and cauliflower plates that carry the protein with mozzarella and quinoa.

2

One measured starch

Rice, mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, sweet potato, GF pasta, quinoa, polenta, or corn. Measured, never a mountain.

3

Two vegetables

Roasted, seasonal, and rotated — 22 vegetables across the month, from rainbow carrots and broccolini to beets and snap peas.

Seasoned, not sauced. Flavor comes from salt-free seasoning blends, with salt added separately at a measured amount. No sweet sauces. No butter or oil finishes. Every plate gluten-free.

A sample week

From the monthly rotation — the menu turns over every month, with specials and comfort plates to keep it interesting. Waitlist members see the month’s menu first.

Monday

Sage Chicken

Chicken · Sage & Thyme · mashed potatoes · rainbow carrots + green beans

Tuesday

Bayou Pork

Pork · Cajun · rice · broccolini + tomato

Wednesday

Ranch Turkey

Turkey · Ranch-Herb · quinoa · snap peas + radish

Thursday

BBQ Pulled Pork + Slaw Kit

Slow-cooked pulled pork with tangy slaw

Comfort plate
Friday

Chesapeake Salmon

Salmon · Chesapeake · roasted potatoes · asparagus + Brussels sprouts

Special

Special — salmon appears once or twice a month, never weekly.

Saturday

Low-and-Slow Beef

Braised beef · Smoky · mashed potatoes · parsnips + onions

Special

Special — braised beef reheats even better than fresh.

Sunday

Island Mushrooms

Mushroom + mozzarella · Jerk · quinoa · kale + peppers

Vegetarian special

Vegetarian special — mozzarella and quinoa carry the protein.

Fourteen blends, no repeats

Salt-free, gluten-free. No blend repeats on back-to-back days, so the menu never tastes the same twice in a row.

Fresh first, then frozen

The first 4 meals of every drop arrive fresh — eat them by the use-by date on each label. Everything after that arrives frozen. Whole fruit (apples, oranges, bananas) rides with the fresh meals. Got a crew to feed?

Lunch your crew will look forward to. Workplace lunches from a local chef — a flat $8.99 a meal, about $45 a week per person for five chef-cooked lunches, delivered to your office every Monday. One drop stocks the fridge for the week. Every staffer picks their own meals from the simplicity menu.

How workplace lunch works

1

One flat business rate

Businesses run on two fixed packs: Business 10 for $89.90, or Business 20 for $179.80. That’s $8.99 a meal, sized at 5 meals per person. Prepaid by the employer. No contract.

2

Staff pick by Thursday

Every staffer chooses their own meals from the simplicity menu by Thursday. Their tastes, their dietary needs, their call. The whole menu is gluten-free, so nobody needs a workaround.

3

Monday drop, stocked fridge

One Monday delivery stocks the office fridge for the week. We start new workplaces with a 4-week pilot for one team of 10–15 people, eating 2–3 lunch days a week.

The case for feeding your people

No multi-year contract. No cafeteria required.

Lunch with no contract. Chef-cooked, picked by each staffer, and gluten-free in every dish.

Whetstone is a flat $8.99 a meal — about $45 a week per person for five chef-cooked lunches. Every meal is chef-cooked, and every staffer picks their own. The whole menu is gluten-free, so no one gets the backup dish.

Two more ways to feed a crew

Tomorrow’s Lunch Twin — $5.49

A second lunch for tomorrow, added to a pilot week’s fresh dinners. Add-on only — never sold alone.

Break Room Reserve — $899

The healthcare staff-fridge pilot: 10 staff, 2 weeks, prepaid. Night shift and weekend staff included, not just day shift.

Start a 4-week pilot

Tell us about your crew and we’ll put together a pilot. One team of 10–15 people, 2–3 lunch days a week, delivered every Monday. No contract. No cafeteria. No obligation beyond the pilot.

Questions, answered

Everything about cards, delivery, and the food.

Classic 14 is $139.99 ($10 a meal, about 7% less per meal than Solo) — two weekly drops of 7: 4 fresh for Mon–Thu, 3 frozen for Fri–Sun in each. Household 21 is $199.99 ($9.52 a meal, about 11% less than Solo) — three weekly drops of 7 on consecutive Sundays: 4 fresh for Mon–Thu, 3 frozen for Fri–Sun in each. Lunch 5 is $44.95 ($8.99 a meal) — five lunches in your Sunday drop, Monday to Friday. Monthly 30 is $249.99 ($8.33 a meal) — 30 meals, one of every dish in the rotation, over four weekly Sunday drops: the first 4 meals of every drop arrive fresh (Mon–Thu), the rest frozen (Fri–Sun). Your pack arrives at your door, prepaid and delivered in full. When you’ve eaten through it, you decide if you want another. There’s no subscription and nothing renews on its own.

What’s actually in a plate?

On the simplicity menu: protein (25–35 g), one measured starch, and two vegetables — flavor from salt-free seasoning blends, with salt added separately. No sweet sauces, no butter or oil finishes. The menu rotates monthly, with specials and a comfort plate on Sundays.

Do I have to cook anything?

No. Every meal is fully cooked. You just heat it. Eat fresh meals by the use-by date on the label. Frozen meals thaw in the fridge in about 24 hours and are good for 3–4 days after thawing. Reheat everything to 165°F and eat.

Is it really all gluten-free?

Yes. Every plate on the simplicity menu is gluten-free. Every one, no asterisks. Vegetarian plates are marked on the menu so you can spot them fast.

What about allergens?

Our food is 100% gluten-free. Meals will be prepared in a kitchen that also handles other common allergens: dairy, egg, soy, fish (salmon, trout, cod, and anchovy in Worcestershire sauce), shellfish (shrimp), and sesame. If you have a severe allergy, contact us before ordering.

Who’s cooking my food?

Tyler O’Neill, a professional sous chef in West Michigan and a certified ServSafe Manager. The same person, cooking in small batches, every time.

Do you do lunch?

Yes — lunch, full time, for everyone. Lunch 5 is $44.95 for five lunches in your Sunday drop, sized for midday, for work or home. Workplaces can also run the Monday fridge drop — see For Business.

How does delivery work?

Delivery runs every Sunday across the Greater Grand Rapids, Holland, and Muskegon areas — see Where we deliver on the home page for the full city and zip list. Your bundle arrives in weekly Sunday drops of 7, prepaid in full: Solo 7 in one week; Classic 14 and Exclusive Eats 14 over two weeks each; Household 21 over three weeks; Lunch 5 in one Sunday drop; Monthly 30 over four weekly drops. The first 4 meals of every drop arrive fresh (Mon–Thu); everything after that arrives frozen (Fri–Sun), in insulated packaging. Your pack arrives at your door. Workplace drops run on Mondays.

When do I need to order by for a Sunday drop?

For a Sunday drop, order by Thursday at 12pm.

Do I need to be home?

No — your pack arrives at your door in insulated packaging. If you won’t be home, leave delivery instructions and we’ll deliver to them. Once meals are delivered according to your instructions, they are your responsibility.

Is there a delivery fee?

Yes. A flat $9.99 per order. Order 2 or more card packs at once and delivery is free.

How do I pay?

Every pack is prepaid in full at purchase. Pay with Venmo (preferred) or card through Stripe.

What if I lose my card pack?

No problem. Your name, card number, and prepaid bundle are on file, so we can replace your card. Your meals aren’t gone just because the paper is.

What about kids, teenagers, and big appetites?

Kids get $5 add-ons with any card pack. Smaller portions of the same dishes the adults eat. No separate kids’ menu. Teenagers eat like adults, so they eat adult meals at adult prices. And for big appetites of any age, add a hearty portion (+$1.50) to any meal. Kids add-ons launch with our first public delivery.

Do you do workplace lunches?

Yes. Two fixed packs: Business 10 for $89.90 or Business 20 for $179.80 — a flat $8.99 a meal, sized at 5 meals per person. Delivered to your office every Monday in one consolidated drop. Prepaid by the employer. Each staffer picks their own meals from the simplicity menu by Thursday, and one drop stocks the fridge for the week. We also offer Tomorrow’s Lunch Twin ($5.49, add-on only) and Break Room Reserve ($899, a 10-staff, 2-week healthcare fridge pilot). We start new workplaces with a 4-week pilot for one team of 10–15 people, eating 2–3 lunch days a week. No multi-year contract, no cafeteria required. See For Business →
